AI USAGE POLICY
As Paula Tait, Sole Trader, I am committed to transparency, trust, and responsible innovation. This AI Usage Policy explains how I use artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the course of delivering my services, and how that may impact my clients, potential clients, website visitors and social media followers.
1. HOW I USE AI
This policy sets out how I use artificial intelligence (AI) tools responsibly and legally as Paula Tait, Sole Trader, and how I use it, amongst other things, to protect my copyright and ensure that client data is protected.
I value creativity and believe that using generative AI can undermine the human element in the creative process. As a writer, composer, music arranger and performer, I do not use generative AI in the creation of my work. As a visual artist, I may occasionally use generative AI to produce an image reference which I then re-work by hand.
I may use AI-based tools to support or enhance aspects of my business, including but not limited to:
- Content creation (e.g. blogs, emails, captions)
- Creation and/or editing of images, designs and videos
- Mixing and mastering audio
- Idea generation and research
- Customer support or communication (e.g. auto-replies, suggested responses)
- Internal productivity tasks (e.g. scheduling, admin, creating summaries)
I do not consent to my intellectual property being used to train generative AI.
2. AI AND PERSONAL DATA
I will never knowingly input sensitive or data which is personally identifiable client data into public AI platforms.
All personal data processed using AI is handled in compliance with GDPR. In particular, I:
- Limit data shared with external processors
- Ensure AI tools are subject to appropriate data protection agreements
- Do not use AI to make fully automated decisions that have legal or significant outcomes without human review

3. TRANSPARENCY AND RESPONSIBILITY
AI helps me improve speed and efficiency, however, I remain fully responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of everything that I create using AI, including any outputs and for all of the services that I deliver.
If AI has been used to generate any part of a deliverable, I always disclose this.
4. LIMITATIONS OF AI USE
AI-generated content may occasionally contain factual inaccuracies, outdated information, or lack context. While I strive for high-quality, human-reviewed outputs, I recommend clients use their own judgment and verify any important information provided.
5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
If you prefer that I do not use AI tools in relation to your project or data, please let me know when you engage my services. I will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests. I will notify you if I am not able to remove AI from my service delivery.
6. POLICY UPDATES
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or my business practices. The latest version will always be available on my website.
